Procrastination is not the devil or something to feel shame and guilt for.
A girl friend and I were talking the other day and what came up was that procrastination is another thing we have been made to feel bad, guilty or shameful for.
What do you mean Kellie?

These times are calling people home.
Home to remember who we are.
Time to be lead by our body.
By our heart.
By our gut.
Not so much by our head or logic.
The realisation I had is that procrastination is our body telling us that what we are "procrastinating" about doesn't serve us. It either doesn't serve us because our body is tired and wants and needs to rest, so we "procrastinate" and therefore beat ourselves up for not doing the thing we "should" be doing.
Or it isn't a FUCK YES so our body is not compelled to move towards the thing.
Our body is saying MAYBE or FUCK NO.
FYI, anything that is a MAYBE, is immediately a FUCK NO.
You know when someone invites you to something and you feel put on the spot, so you say yes even when your body and the little birdie on your shoulder is saying, 'I don't think I really want to do that, I think I want to do something else or rest' and we say it to keep the peace, to be a people pleaser, so that we don't get in trouble or disappoint. We learned this behaviour when we were little. It's easier to go against our bodies and say yes than it is to risk abandonment.
So, stop feeling guilty, shameful or bad for so called "procrastination" and start listening to your body and being led by your body.
Yes, people will likely be displeased with you because all of a sudden you aren't a yes person and you may even seem lazy to some people.
The truth is, you are leading the way and people will follow. You be the change you want to see in the world.
It's time for us to set ourselves free.
Free from guilt, fear and shame.
Now let's take procrastination out of our vocabulary and replace it with resting or being embodied or led by our body.
Have a great day,
Kellie Malcolm
